SUBVERSION

Subversion is a thriving open source project which has resulted in one of the most popular SCM tools available today. It's adoption rate is growing exponentially and with the latest planned functionality release this is set to continue. Subversion maintains a versioned history of your projects files and directories and also the properties associated with them. It does this through a centralised storage system that is simple to maintain and administrate. Depending on the setup, users can access the repositories via the web, allowing subversion to be a truly flexible collaborative environment. Subversion will provide you with an extremely cost effective and reliable SCM solution which is usable and contains the key functionality available in other tools.

ClearQuest Subversion Integration

CQ2SVN provides complete integration between Subversion and IBM Rational ClearQuest.
Configuration management tools are most effective when closely integrated with the CM processes and Change Management products within your organisation.
CQ2SVN enables users to record a set of modified files and developer comments within a ClearQuest change record. Once the change is complete, the user is able to automatically change the state of the record without using ClearQuest itself. The ClearQuest/Subversion integration is bi-directional meaning users can also record ClearQuest information against the Subversion version history. Previously users of integrated IBM Rational solutions would be reluctant to move away from ClearCase because of the close integration with ClearQuest. CQ2SVN performs the same seamless "change set" integration between ClearQuest and Subversion and can work alongside existing ClearCase UCM and Base integrations.

IBM Rational ClearCase Multisite Solution

ClearReplica is a custom add-on to IBM Rational ClearCase offering a serious alternative to IBM Rational Multisite. It's a low cost, feature-rich alternative solution to ClearCase MultiSite. ClearReplica does NOT require any ClearCase MultiSite licenses.

ClearReplica offers improved granular control over 'what' is replicated. MultiSite allows an organisation to replicate a 'whole' VOB's where as ClearReplica can replicate whole VOB's, portions of a VOB or just a single branch of one element. ClearReplica can actually "replicate" portions from several VOB's and consolidate them into a single common VOB in another location. Use ClearReplica for geographically distributed development teams or for 'hot' fast backup / recover of lost versions. Unlike MultiSite, ClearReplica does not require 'mastership' of objects. This allows development to take place on the same branch in different locations. It also eliminates the need to 'change mastership' when new elements are created.

IBM Rational Clearcase Trigger Management

ClearTrigger is an innovative extension to IBM Rational ClearCase that serves to simplify the task of maintaining triggers for policy and process management.

Let ClearTrigger simplify the task of maintaining triggers and policy in your organization. Use ClearTrigger to restrict users, define triggers or disallow commands without having to visit every VOB in your region

Conventional methods of developing ClearCase triggers have been circumvented with ClearTrigger in order to provide administrators with a fast and easy approach to defining policy at both the user and enterprise level.

Implementing ClearTrigger is so basic and straightforward that administrators of all experience levels can use it. It conveniently integrates with your current ClearCase installation and doesn't require moving VOBs to new machines or reorganizing your network. Just install and configure ClearTrigger and get started.

IBM Rational ClearCase Web Interface

ClearWeb seamlessly integrates with the IBM Rational ClearCase web interface so that users see and have access to interactive dialogues just like ClearCase native interface users.

ClearCase itself does not support interactive triggers for ClearCase web users. ClearCase defines interactive triggers as any that provide GUI notification (i.e. use clearprompt) or write to stdout or stderr. Given that definition, many user written triggers (and many ClearTrigger features) are not available over the web.

ClearWeb seamlessly integrates with the ClearCase web interface so that ClearCase web users see writes to stdout or stderr and have access to interactive dialogs as with the ClearCase native interface. Furthermore, the web user has the same "wait-for-reply" abilities that local users have for dialogs.

The standard ClearCase web interface only supports a limited set of cleartool commands (checkout, checkin, uncheckout, update) ClearWeb extends this by allowing over 120 more cleartool commands and an unlimited number of non-ClearCase commands.

The Clearvision support offering is designed to appeal to organisations of all sizes and can be tailored to best fit your requirements, whether you need Clearvision to cover defined periods of holiday/sickness or to have a technical expert on daily standby, Clearvision are able to assist. Clearvision specialise in IBM Rational and Subversion Support but also have experience with products such as Bugzilla, Jira, Apache, Eclipse, WANdisco and CollabNet.

Clearvision support staff have experience from thousands of customer sites covering a wide variety of technical environments and have previously resolved all manner of customer issues. Support is assigned in 15 minute intervals, if your problem requires an onsite visit Clearvision will invoice per half day as a 4 hourly block plus expenses (at the Additional Support Hourly rate). JIRA2SVN

JIRA2SVN provides bi-directional integration between JIRA and Subversion, enabling users to record modified Subversion files and comments within a JIRA issue record quickly and easily, minimising opportunities for human error. The tool also allows for the recording of JIRA record information against Subversion revision history. JIRA2SVN extends functionality and secures end-user compliance in several key areas:

• Provides an automated dialog display of JIRA records when committing.

• Allows users to automatically record issue information against Subversion revisions.

• Optional configurations allow for the enforcement of compliance and best practise.
