For Atlassian User Groups, we typically invite presenters that will share info on our product roadmap. In terms of the new plugin framework, the latest documentation is up, and can be found here.
The release notes for the Confluence milestone release 2.10m5 (for developers only) can be found here and should give you a glimpse of what's coming.
