Confluence 2.5.4 to 2.5.8 Documentation

Index

The upgrade process from Confluence 1.x.x to 2.x.x requires restoring from an XML backup (method 2), rather than pointing to the confluence_home directory (method 1). In addition, the upgrade process from 2.0.x or 2.1.x to 2.2.x or later requires attachment renaming, which is done automatically in either method 1 or method 2 upgrades. If you are unable to create a backup with attachments from your 1.x.x installation, you may split these tasks into two steps.

If your attachments folder size is too large to use Method Two, please do the following:

  1. Create an XML backup of your data without attachments from your 1.x.x installation.
  2. Upgrade Confluence to 2.1.5 using Method Two (this will satisfy the requirement to upgrade to 2.x.x via Method Two)
  3. Upgrade Confluence 2.1.5 to 2.2.4 by using Method One (this will satisfy the need to rename the attachment storage scheme).
