Description/Features

The Recently Updated Portlet is a JSR-168 compliant portlet that can be used to display Recently Updated Confluence Pages on portal software.

Installation

Portal Applications

This is a portlet. Thus, you will need a portal application in order to use it.
The portlet is JSR-168 compliant, and thus should work with any JSR-168 compliant portal application.
Please Note: This does not mean that you will not have to do some portal application specific jiggery-pokery in order to make the portlet work with your portal application. I developed the portlet with Liferay. However, I found that it simply would not work without some liferay libraries. These are not included with the Search Portlet, as they are only going to be useful/needed if you are using Liferay as your portal application. Undoubtedly, if you use a different app, there will be other requirements that must be fulfilled. Please see your portal app's doc for info on installing portlets.

If you happen to be using Liferay:

Usage

  • Launch your portal app.
  • The portlet may need to be added so you can see it.
    • If liferay, add content by
      • mousing over the Liferay logo in the upper right corner
      • Clicking the + (plus) logo.
      • A popup of addable content will launch.
      • Look for the new portlet in the Undefined category.
      • Click the add button.
      • Close the addable content button.

The portlet will display a list of links to 10 recently updated pages.
The default Confluence Server is localhost:8082. This probably won't work for you.
To see useful results, change the server to a Confluence that uses the Recently Updated Xmlrpc Plugin.

Settings

To change the server setting, you'll need to get to the Edit Mode of the portlet.
In Liferay, you would mouse over the right hand corner of the title bar for the portlet, and click the paper/pencil icon.
