Description/Features
In Twitter like fashion, Twikkir lets you publish your micro-blog within Confluence.
A simple interface provides the ability to publish your updates and view your colleagues updates - all within the Confluence platform.
Usage
| Velocity Helper It appears that it is necessary to install the plugin and then restart the Confluence instance in order for the Velocity helper class to be available within the system. |
- Install the plugin through the Plugin Manager
- Add the macro:
{twikkir}to any page.
- Start Twikkiring!
Functionality
The macro provides a panel with three associated tabs. All users can visit the page with the macro and use the twikkir functionality or they can add the macro to another page of their choosing.
The first tab provides the ability to post a twikkir. It also displays the list of recent twikkirs from users the current user has selected to follow. The list of twikkirs is automatically updated every minute.
The second tab provides the ability to de/select who the current user is listening to. This tab also provides the ability to refresh the user list - which will reorder the users in alphabetical order and display any new users who have started to twikkir. The refresh action will also refresh the list of twikkirs from the users the current user is following. Most other actions within the plugin are achieved asynchronously with AJAX calls.
The third tab provides a list of the twikkirs the current user has posted through the system.
The system stores twikkir data within a unique Bandana data structure for each user. A user is logged as a twikkir user when they first create a twikkir post.
The plugin makes use of the JQuery and JQuery UI libraries.

There are many possible extensions to this plugin:
- Send and recieve twitters from Twitter itself
- Enable Confluence entities (pages, etc.) to send twikkirs on various events (update/most viewed/etc.).
- Enable a command line interface to execute Confluence actions
- Build twikkir clouds
- Build twikkir connection data - inferring/suggesting potential relationships between users based on who is following who
