Description
This is Video Conference Plugin for Confluence - Enterprise Wiki that is made by Source Code of Renaun Erickson ( http://renaun.com/blog/2006/11/08/147/ ) and the License is Apache License, Version 2.0. Video Conference works on Adobe Flash Media Server 2 and is made with Flex 2 technology. This is like a Instant Messaging but works with Webcam and Microphone so users can see each other faces and hear voice of other users and keep Video Meeting. Users can login to Video Conference with their Confluence user account.

- Install Flash Media Server 2 from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashmediaserver/ (You can get Developer Edition as free of charge for testing and evaluating this Video Conference Plugin)
- Put main.asc file in flex_videoconference.zip to C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Flash Media Server 2\applications\flex_videoconference or if you using Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS please read Red Hat Flash Media Server Installation Introductions.
- Restart Flash Media Server 2
- Install .jar file of this plugin
- Download FlexVideoMain.zip
Attention! You need Webcam and Microphone to get to this plugin to work! Attention! Plugin works only with Flash Player 9 or above!
Usage
- Attach FlexVideoMain.swf to attachments of page where you want to use Video Conference
- Write macro {flex-video-main} or {flex-video-main:600} (first parameter sets height) of this plugin to page where is the FlexVideoMain.swf file is to display Video Conference on the page
Release notes
1.1 BETA - Just changed version number. This version is tested on Confluence 2.5.5 and 2.6.1.
1.0 BETA - Removed some unneeded from pom.xml. This version is tested on Confluence 2.5.5 and 2.6.1.
1.0 ALPHA - This version contains changes to pluginkey and that will not change any more. Version is tested on Confluence 2.5.5.
1.0 SNAPSHOT - This is first version of plugin and is not tested with multiple users and it is made for Confluence Version 2.5.5.
 | 1.0 SNAPSHOT is unstable version and next version will change so much you need to uninstall SNAPSHOT before you install next version. There is was some versions of the SNAPSHOT that are changed and remade with same version name! |

It is similar like Instant Messaging but not can used like Skype or AOL, etc. Video and voice comes as real-time and faster than in Skype becase video and voice quality is lower but still high quality.
I'm planing to make this useful for Webniars where admins can view Power Point like presentations to users and users can see admin face and voice who keeps webniar.

Of course, I have attached the FlexVideoMain.swf file to the page. This just is what I have to do in order the plugin works properly, isn't it?
- Anyway, when I click in the videoConference link, a new window appears (like the second screenshot) and ask me for a name, so, I write a name (I have tested with a name like "qwerty" or "aaabbb" and with the name of one of the users in Confluence) and then, a new window apears and says " Restricted usage The number of users has been limited for this demo, please try again in a few minutes" And my question is: what is going wrong? Is a problem of licenses?

Flash Media Server 2 Developer Edition License allows only 5 users at same time. Commercial license allows 1500 if remember correct.
I have no this problem but some how some bug in swf or main.ac file tells to Flash Media Server that there is 5 users or more.
You don't need anything else than write macros
{flex-video-main}
This put height to 600
{flex-video-main:600}
User limit is set on main.asc file and must be in Flash Media Server's applications folder in subfolder flex_videoconference
I'm working now Red5 Flash Server version but that is bit of hard to install.

I have just done the first tests and I'm surprised: I think you have done a very great work. Congratulations!
Anyway, I would like to ask you a new question: I have configured the webcam to use a middle resolution quality (640x480, but I can get up to 1280x960) but the message "Video Quality is set really low not to use up all brandwidth" appears in the page where I am testing the plugin. Is there any other macro or any parameter or whatelse that I should write in the macro to get more video quality? Actually I'm using "flex-video-main:320" because it is enough for me. Is there a "user guide" or something like that where you have explained all the options or paremeters of the macro?

You can count if Video Quality is 500 kbit/s just count how many bytes is 500 kbit then count how many magabytes it makes in hour and think if there is 5 users who keeps 5 hours meeting everyday. With many users this will cause a many Gigabytes data transfers if meetings is long.. with thousands it will be in Terabytes if Video Quality is high..

I am tested all these and they all is possible even record your face, desktop or keep realtime TV from Formula 1 racing.
Red5 makes that possible you don't need pay expensive Adobe FMS 2 or 3 just for chat with some Friands because FMS is for some bigger production use and developmet use is only for testing and making some apps..
