How to setup a printer on a Mac
Solution
1. Click on the Apple icon in upper left-hand corner
2. Click on "System Preferences"
3. Click on "Print & Fax"
4. Click on the "+" button on the left side of the window
5. Click on the "IP Printer" button at the top of this window
6. Set "Protocol" to "Line Printer Daemon - LPD"
7. Enter the IP address of the printer (Example: 10.1.47.31)
8. In the "Queue" field enter "Print"
9. In the "Name" field enter the name of the printer before the IP address (Example: sptxer22_10.1.47.31)
10. In the "Location" field, leave it blank
11. In the "Print Using" field click and scroll to the Make of printer (Example: Xerox)
12. Select "Model" from the pull down list
13. Click "Add", then "Continue" (if prompted)
14. The new printer should now appear in the list of printers available in the "Print & Fax" window.
