We use our wiki as a customer area, and we have a different space for each customer. Confluence 2.2.2 permisions work great for locking customers down to their space only. However, when it comes to locking users down and stopping them browseing other users profiles, it doesn't seem to work at all.
Ideally we would like to be able to restrict users permissions to browse other users profiles, including ensuring that users can not see other users in the "Recently Updated" section. However, what then happens if User A and User B who can't see each other both edit page C? So I guess that idea will have to be scrapped.
The other solution is to stop users profiles and spaces appearing in the "Recently Updated" section on the dashboard. So we used http://www.adaptavist.com/display/USERGUIDE/Custom+Dashboards to create our own dashboard which has types=page, news, comment in the recently updated tag. While it mostly works, I would still classify it as a hack.
So, can we have facilities to customise the dashboard more? We already have some - We can set the "Site Welcome Message" in the "General Configuration". Is it possible to let us configure the "Recently Updated" widget to?
I'm open to hearing other solutions, of course.
Thanks,
