You can copy a page, to create a duplicate of the page content. You will need to rename the page, because a page name must be unique within a space.
You need 'Create Pages' permission, which is assigned by a space administrator from the Space Administration screens. See space permissions or contact a space administrator for more information.
To copy a page:
-
Go to a page in the space and choose Tools > Copy.
Confluence will open a copy of the page in edit mode. By default, Confluence will name the page 'Copy of <<original page name>>'. - Rename the page and make any other changes required in the body of the page.
- If you need to move the new page to a different space or a different parent, you can edit the Location. Refer to the instructions on moving a page.
- Click Save.
Notes
- Copying a page will duplicate all of the original page's attachments and labels, but will not copy comments from the original page.
- This method of copying a page does not copy the child pages. Please add your vote to issue CONF-2814 if you'd like to see this improvement.
- You can copy an entire space, including all pages in the space (parents and children) — refer to these instructions on copying a space.
- Consider using the WebDav plugin to move or copy a page hierarchy from one space to another, provided that none of the page names already exist in the target space.

I do not understand how to do this. There is no Tools menu in Confluence. There is also not tools menu in Internet Explorer/Firefox. Please tell where this tool menu is located, to copy a page.

Hi there,
The
Toolsmenu is available inConfluence Default Theme. If that is not the current theme, the following list might be helpful for you:Confluence Classic Theme, click onInfo -> CopyLeft Navigation Theme, click onPage Operations -> Info -> CopyClickr Theme, click onInfo -> CopyHope that helps.
Cheers,

Hi,
There seems a problem with the copy function in Confluence 2.5. But I can't add any comment in the manual for v2.5 so I think I better try my luck here.
One of my colleagues is having image shrinking problem when he copies a page. The display of the attached image is shrinked to illegible and he has to manually remove the width/height settings that appear out of the blue on the ! macro. I also tried the same function and don't have such a problem. We both use IE 6.
Is there anyone who runs into the same situation? Any clue?
Thanks.

Hi Jane,
I think this issue is related to this bug report:
From the report the bug is fixed in Confluence version 2.10.3 and 3.0.
You might want to consider to upgrade.
Hope that helps,
Zed

Zed, Thanks for your answer. We're in the process of upgrading right now but it takes some time.
Meanwhile, we experienced another problem when copying a page with a gliffy diagram. After saving the copied page, the gliffy diagram went blank. A new identically named gliffy attachment, with much smaller size (like 0.1kb), was added automatically. And even after we deleted the newly added attachment, the disgram was still blank.
At my side, I can go into the gliffy editor and see all the original drawing. After I save the diagram again, it shows on the page. But the same colleague loses all his drawings and removing the new attachment always deletes the original gliffy diagram. I wonder if this is also some kind of version specific bug? Have 2.10 and 3.0 fixed this? I searched Jira and couldn't locate similar issues. If the newer versions won't have this problem, we'll be more confident to migrate.

Does the Copy page function copy the page's restrictions? I think the answer is "no" but want to be certain.

Hi Michael
No, the page restriction will not be copy. However, if you think that is a good feature, you might want to launch a feature request in
JIRA:
Hope that helps.

Hello,
I have two questions:
1) I need to edit the label " Children()" "child page" that is used in confluence to show page structure. I need to replace these labels with the the word " Sub-Topic".
Is there a way to get this done in Concluence 3.1?
2) Can you rate content in Confluence ? such that content with high rating will aways show up on top.
Thank you.

Hello,
The second sentence of this document notes, "You will need to rename the page, because a page name must be unique within a space." Is this still true? There are users in our organization that want to be able to create pages with the same name.
I see that this JIRA: http://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-5926
is in the 'resolved' state. Do you know when this feature will be available?
Thank you!
Julie

Hi Julie,
The second sentence that you mentioned is still true. A page name must be unique withing a space. The feature request that you mentioned is resolved as duplicate to another improvement request which is still open.
Please add yourself as a watcher, vote for this improvement and add your own comments to this request. For further details on how we include new features and improvements, you might want to read this page

Hi,
I am looking for a way to reuse a page from a different space. Copying is not ideal as then there will be two versions of the page and I will have to make changes to both. What I want is to put the page in two spaces where the page is relevant to both and edit the page and have it update both instances of it. I can't find any documentation suggesting I can do this.
Regards,
Heather

Hi Heather,
The Include Page Macro should help you with this.

Can I copy a page and all it's children to another location? I have a page that I currently copy and then have to copy each of the children individually but being able to copy then full section over and rename would be awesome :)

Hi,
Unfortunately, this feature is still not being implemented in Confluence at the moment as per this new feature request:
Feel free to cast a vote, comment on it, and watch it for future updates.
As a workaround, you can copy an entire space, including all pages in the space (parents and children) — refer to these instructions on copying a space.
Cheers~
Joa
