Our company uses YMess for internal messaging, so everyone had the YMess application installed.  Is there a way to create a

    ymsgr:sendIM?<userID>

link instead of the default webmessage link?  I've tried to create my own links, but confluence doesn't seem to like the ymsgr: tag.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

      Hi Charles,

You will need to customise the macro in order for you to implement your own links.

      Hi rsc,

A more detailed information about this macro can be found at Confluence Extension space:

Have you tried turning on the setting to allow other users to see your ICQ status? Also, it might be helpful to hold the shift key when you reload the page to renew the browser's cache.

      Hope this helps.

      Cheers,
      Azwandi

Hi- This is a great plugin but we are having some difficulties getting it to work right with Skype.  When we write the macro im:username|service=skype it triggers skype to open but doesn't bring up the username - so a person can't IM the user unless they are already connected to the user.  Are we doing anything wrong?

Also we would like to have the service IM a Skype group - is there a way to do that?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Is there any way to show ones status on a local (jabber) IM server? We use an internal IM server - and I would like to have a "push-to-talk" button on users confluence space.

    Kindly,

    Christian

Can this be made to work with Office Communicator?

    1. May 17, 2010

      Hi,

As far as I know, this macro does not support Office Communicator. However, feel free to raise an improvement request at http://jira.atlassian.com and describe in detail how you require this feature to work. Please add yourself as a watcher, vote for this improvement and add your own comments to this request. For further details on how we include new features and improvements, you might want to read this page

    Hi,

We're having a problem using the plugin with Skype. The status keeps coming up as 'not online' even when users are logged in. If we click on the Skype button, it is still able to call users however.

    Cheers,

    Emily

      Hi Emily,

Apologies if this response is not timely. I am not exactly sure about the issue, but you might want to configure your Skype client to allow your presence to be viewable by web browsers. To do that, please follow the steps below.

      1. Launch your Skype client.
      2. Go to Tools->Options->Privacy->Show Advanced Options.
      3. Tick Allow my status to be shown on the web.

The location of that option might differ depending on your Skype client version. If problem persists, please raise a support ticket to https://support.atlassian.com, so that your issue can be further investigated. Also provide the following:

      1. Attach a copy of your Support Utility zip file which can be created via Administration > Support utility > Create Support Zip. If you are using Confluence version below 3.1, please provide us:
        • A copy of your Confluence log file located at <confluence-home>/logs/atlassian-confluence.log
        • The system information page. You can obtain the page by accessing the http://<path-to-confluence>/500page.jsp

      Cheers

    How about spark?

    1. Mar 06, 2011

Isn't spark developed by the same team that do Openfire?

Spark is merely an IM *client* not an IM *server/protocol*. If you use wildfire/openfire this should work.
