Ideas for JIRA Integration

Since my original contributions to JIRA Integration ideas seems to have disappeared, I guess it's time to create a new page.

What I'd like to see is:

  • Global configuration settings for JIRA instance's address. If the address changes, it shouldn't require users to edit tons of pages.
  • Authentication support for JIRA macros, only display stuff if the current user has the right to view the content in JIRA and support non-public JIRA instances
  • "Display a list of specified issues" instead of links to search results pages
  • Display overall status of the displayed issues (8 out of 10 completed)
  • Two-way integration, if Confluence links to an issue explicitly, have JIRA notice and display the link
  • Ability to have shared user database for JIRA and Confluence

    Can one say "Portlets"?

Add java.blogs, and you have a nice managers dashboard.

Integration would indeed be nice, especially if single sign-on (like CAS) was also used. Then don't have to monkey around with passing usernames and passwords.

Deleting accounts when using shared user database should fire events cross-app. At the moment deleting a user in Jira who's authored pages in Confluence doesn't even warn of the situation since the account integration is a "read-only" hack.

This is probably not the best way for us to keep track of feature and improvement requets, and therefore this page is no longer linked to from the Home page of this space.
