Importing Issues

The Connector is a useful tool for import issues from JIRA. Using the import wizard of The Connector, you can import issues from any JIRA project directly into Microsoft Project. The Connector provides flexible importing filters so you can import issues based on issue type, issue priority and issue status. The import wizard also allows for advanced importing options such as restrictions based on versions and components. Options are provided by The Connector for importing tasks as unassigned, or assigned with the user they are assigned to in JIRA.

Synchronize JIRA issues and Microsoft Project tasks

The Connector allows for associations between Microsoft Project tasks and JIRA issues. Using the Send To JIRA and Update From JIRA functions, keep your Microsoft Project plan synchronized with JIRA. The Sync All function of The Connector will allow for updating information from JIRA and pushing changes back into JIRA in a single click. Advanced mapping functionality allows you the ability to control what information is exchanged with JIRA giving flexibility for a wide variety of uses.

Direct Access to JIRA through a Microsoft Project toolbar

The Connector creates a custom toolbar inside Microsoft Project which allows quick and easy access to JIRA while you work on your project plan. Direct links to the JIRA issues from the Microsoft Project tasks allow you to quickly and easily look at information in both systems.

The Connector also creates an menu option on the main menu of Microsoft Project which allows access to all the functionality of The Connector.

I've watched the videos and am I ever impresed - this looks like exactly what we need!

More questions - it appears that the Connector does not import Resources (the people to whome issues are assigned) - is this correct? Do the resources (assignees) need to be set up in MS Project and are there any special requirements for them to match the ones in JIRA?

The Connector will import resources from JIRA and does support several resource mapping modes. The simplest is a one to one mapping of the JIRA user ID to the resource ID, but you can do more complex mappings where the MS Project resource name is something completely different than the JIRA user ID.
