Description/Features

This plugin is a Jira extension to allow the Planning and Time Management of the project from a single screen. It allows the Project Manager to create and manage the schedule of the project.
Display issues in a multi-level hierarchy. This report shows a set of issues (version) like a Project view. Contact us for details.  

Installation

The installation of the plugin is not different from other JIRA plugins installation.

  1. Unzip the distribution file
  2. Shutdown your application server
  3. If you are upgrading from a previous version, delete the file [JIRA_HOME]/WEB-INF/lib/e-Core_License.jar
  4. If you are installing versions below 1.1.6, copy "e-Core_projectViewPlugin.jar" and "e-Core_Utils.jar" into your [JIRA_HOME]/WEB-INF/lib directory.
  5. Copy "importissue_details.jsp" into [JIRA_HOME]/secure/views/jimex. If the directory does not exist, create it.
  6. If you are upgrading from a previous version, run the script "upgrade_mysql.sql". Otherwise, run "baseline_mysql.sql".
    Note: currently support is provided to MySQL only. Others RDBMSs will be added soon.
  7. Restart your application server
  8. Login at JIRA as a user with global administrator access
  9. Bring up the administration page by clicking on the "Administration" link on the top bar
  10. Enable Time Tracking and Issue Linking at JIRA Adminstration page
  11. Enable Attachments and configure the directory path correctly
  12. Add a new issue type named "Task"
  13. Click on the Project View link under e-Core Licenses
  14. Upload the license file that you received by email
  15. Re-index JIRA
  16. You're done!

Version History


Version 1.1.4:    

- Issue type creation: In the PVP version 1.1.4 the user can create different task types on the create task option, like meeting, bug, improvement.

- Change status option: The user can change the issue status through PVP

- New Drag´n´drop: The issue will became a 'Sister' of the task directly located above, previously the task became 'Daughter'

- Custom fields: The PVP support the different types of custom fields for XML importation

- Time spent validation: When the user make a Drag´n´drop, the PVP reorganizes the issues time spent according to the new issue family  

Version 1.1.5:

- Creation of issues with required fields.  When the user creates an issue through Project View Plugin, the flow is redirected to JIRA screen, with the required fields to the user, allowing the user to fulfill the same.

- New column "Issue type", give to the user an issue type view.

- Auto filter with issue types, allowing the user to filter by type.

- Link for switch project/version visualization.

- Issue type import, allowing the XML import with different issue's types.

- Deletion configuration through Project View Plugin Configuration.

- Tasks hierarchy bold highlighted.

- Viewing plugin settings and license only for JIRA's administrator.

- Date format treatment.

- Tested on Internet Explorer and Firefox.

Version 1.1.6:

- Cross browser version;

- Only one file, utils was insert in the Project View Plugin's jar;

- Print option in the issues screen;

We are already working on the new version 1.1.7 of JIRA Project View Plugin. This new version's main features will be: 
            - Baseline Data Restore Option;
            - New Project Status;
            - Fix the window position of create issue and baseline;

    I had a request to review this plugin, but I believe it only runs with mysql right now. Do you have time-scales for other databases, eg SQLServer, DB2?
