To enable Public Signup and CAPTCHA,

  1. Click the 'Administration' link in the top right of the JIRA Studio header. You will need to be logged in as an administrator to see this link.
  2. The JIRA administration menu will be displayed at the left of the screen. Click the 'Studio Administration' link in the 'JIRA Studio' menu.
  3. The 'Studio Administration' page will display. Click the 'change' link next to the account name.
  4. Your account settings will show on the 'Edit JIRA Configuration' page that displays (see screenshot below).
  5. Update the desired fields and click the 'Update' button to change your account settings.
  • To enable 'Public Signup', you will need to update the 'Mode' field to 'Public'. This will allow any users to signup and then post issues. Setting 'Mode' to 'Private' will restrict user creation to administrators only.
  • To enable 'CAPTCHA' (i.e. validation by image) on signup, you will need to set the 'CAPTCHA on signup' field to 'ON'.
Please note, JIRA Studio is priced based on the number of users in your installation. Enabling public signup may cause you to exceed your user limit.
