Embedding RSS Feeds
By displaying RSS feeds, you can insert outside RSS feeds into Confluence to provide your Confluence users with important information.
Publishing RSS Feeds
By publishing RSS feeds, Confluence helps you stay automatically informed of changes and updates going on within Confluence.
RSS is generally used to notify others of the latest news and updates. When a site publishes new content regularly, the change can automatically be updated by subscriber via a RSS feed.
Displaying and Reading RSS From Other Sites
If another site publishes an RSS feed, you can include its contents in a Confluence page by including the RSS Feed in the page. Confluence will check the feed for updates at most every hour.

Subscribing to Confluence Updates via RSS
Confluence also produces RSS that you can subscribe to (using an RSS Newsreader) in order to receive notifications of new or updated content on the Confleunce site. Confluence supports both anonymous and authenticated feeds. Each space has many built in RSS feeds to select from, and you can custom create you own feed via the RSS Feed Builder.
