Bamboo Cloud EOL
Atlassian strives to provide high quality and evolving products to our customers. With this in mind, we've made the decision to discontinue our Bamboo Cloud offering on 31 January 2017.
The decision was announced on 24 May 2016 at Atlas Camp.
What does the EOL mean for current Bamboo Cloud users?
If you're a current Bamboo Cloud subscriber, the End of Life (EOL) scenario depends on the license type that you're using:
|License||Details||How to get a corresponding Bamboo Server license|
You can keep evaluating Bamboo until it expires.
|You can try or purchase Bamboo Server.|
You can renew your monthly Bamboo Cloud subscription every month until 31 December 2016, which means that all monthly subscriptions will expire by 31 January 2017.
On 23 May 2016, all commercial Bamboo Cloud customers will be offered a free perpetual Bamboo Server license at the matching agent tier of their Cloud instance. This includes 12 months of maintenance and support.
The maintenance and support for the free Bamboo Server license expires on 23 May 2017. This means that after 23 May 2017 you will need to purchase maintenance and support for your Bamboo Server license if you wish to continue receiving software updates and support.
The licenses are available in your MyAtlassian account.
|Pre-purchased annual subscription||
Your Bamboo Cloud instance will continue to function until the end of your license period. If your license expires prior to 31 January 2017, please contact us for your options.
You can continue using your Open Source Bamboo Cloud subscription until 31 January 2017.

Frequently Asked Questions
You can find answers to some of your questions below.
Q: Why did you close Bamboo Cloud?
Due to Bamboo Cloud architecture and the complexity of the underlying infrastructure it is not possible for us to deliver the quality of service and the experience that our customers need. We believe discontinuing Bamboo Cloud is the right decision for our customers as we can now focus on building an optimal cloud experience with Bitbucket Pipelines and continue improving Bamboo Server for large software teams.
Q: Are you planning to end-of-life Bamboo Server?
We do NOT have any plans to end of life Bamboo Server, in fact, the opposite is true. Without the burden of supporting two deployment options, our Bamboo team can accelerate feature development for Server. Bamboo Server will continue to be Atlassian's continuous integration and delivery tool for those hosting environments locally.
To learn more about the recently introduced agent tier (up to 250 agents) and other features, read the Bamboo 5.11 announcement blog post.

Q: What are my next steps?
We are offering a migration path from Bamboo Cloud to Bamboo Server. You can read more about the requirements and steps in the Migration Hub.
Bamboo Cloud customers can sign up to try Bitbucket Pipelines.
Q: Can I upgrade my free Bamboo Server license?
You can upgrade your free Bamboo Server license to more agents. The process is handled like a regular Bamboo Server license upgrade.
Q: Can I renew my free Bamboo Server license after 23 May 2017?
You can renew your Bamboo Server license after your free license expires on 23 May 2017. The process is handled like a regular Bamboo Server license renewal.
Q: Can I keep using elastic agents that I set up for Bamboo Cloud with the free Bamboo Server license?
Your free Bamboo Server license allows the same number of remote agents as your previous cloud license (including elastic agents), except in the case of starter licenses. Bamboo server starter licenses come with unlimited local agents, but no remote agents. For more information about how to update the setup of your agents, see the Migration Hub.
