Problem

JIRA or Stash is configured with TLS 1.1 and 1.2

Bamboo is unable to create Application Link to JIRA or Stash.

The following appears in the atlassian-bamboo.log:

Cause

JDK 1.7 disable TLS 1.1,1.2 by default.

Bamboo is using old library that does not enable TLS 1.1,1.2:  BAM-16239 - Getting issue details... STATUS

Workaround

  1. Upgrade to JDK 1.8
  2. Use the following JVM option:

    -Dhttps.protocols=TLSv1.1,TLSv1.2
