Summary

Upon opening the Jira issues tab, a continuous loading animation appears and persists indefinitely, preventing users from accessing their Jira issues within the Bitbucket interface.

Diagnosis

Check if the Jira/Bitbucket integration is installed and Smart Commit is enabled for the affected repository.

  1. Navigate to your Jira DVCS account and verify that the Bitbucket workspace is connected to Jira. You should be able to see the Workspace name in the list.
  2. Confirm that the Smart Commit feature is enabled for the affected repository.

If you don't see any Workspace names in your DVCS account, it indicates that the integration is not connected. In such a case, please refer to the KB article "Connect Jira Cloud with your Bitbucket Cloud" for instructions on how to establish the integration. If the integration is already set up correctly, please proceed to the solution.

Cause

We discovered that this issue occurs when the affected repository is not correctly linked to the Jira project Toolchain.

Solution

To resolve the issue, follow these steps to re-link the affected repository with the Jira project Toolchain:

  1. Go to the Jira project settings and click on "Toolchain."
  2. In the "View all tools" section, verify if the repository name is listed under the Bitbucket panel. If it's not listed, proceed to the next step.
  3. If the repository is missing from the list, click on the "+" icon and search for the repository name. Add it to the toolchain.
  4. Once the repository is added, refresh the Jira tab in Bitbucket. If the tab is still loading, it means the repository is not linked to another project. In that case, repeat the same steps for the other project.

Following these steps will ensure that the affected repository is properly linked with the Jira project Toolchain.
