Problem

When pushing to a Bitbucket Cloud repository, the following error appears:

$ git push origin
conq: the account owner '{USERNAME}' has exceeded their user limit - write access is disabled to the repository '{REPOSITORY}'.
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly

Cause

You are seeing this message because the account that owns the repository you are attempting to push to is over their plan limit.

Resolution

To remedy this situation, do one of the following:

  • Upgrade to a higher user plan
  • Remove some users from your repositories

This can be done from the Plans and Billing page of the account that owns the repositories.

It can be found from the Manage account menu item in the upper right-hand menu or directly at https://bitbucket.org/account/user/{USERNAME}/plans-and-billing/.

For more detailed information, please check out our documentation or Plans and billing.
