This Long Term Support (LTS) release change log sets out to give you an overview of what's changed between Bitbucket 8.9 and 8.19 LTS releases.

About Long Term Support releases

We recommend upgrading Bitbucket regularly. However, if your organization's process means you only upgrade about once a year, upgrading to a Long Term Support (LTS) release may be a good option. An LTS release provides continued access to critical security, stability, data integrity, and performance issues until this version reaches its end of life.

8.19

Added support for:

  • Git 2.44 (backported to Bitbucket 8.9.12+)
  • Git 2.45 (backported to Bitbucket 8.9.17+)

Git 2.43.x, 2.44.x, and 2.45.x may contain a performance regression. That's why we don't recommend using them until Git maintainers provide a fix. Bitbucket will release an additional announcement about the fix.

Deprecated support for:

  • Elasticsearch (In Bitbucket 9.0, support for Elasticsearch will be removed, and OpenSearch will be the only search server distribution.)
  • Git 2.33 and before
