Use our authentication features to gain more control over how users log in to your Atlassian Cloud site. Once you set an authentication policy, the same policy applies when your users log in to a site that your organization doesn't own. And if you give site access to user accounts that you don't manage, whatever policies those accounts do or don't have apply when those users log in to your site.
After you claim your domain, you can enact a password policy from the Site administration. After you set a password policy, we'll notify all users to update their password according to the policy you set.
SAML single sign-on
When you set up SAML, your users log in to Atlassian account with your organization's identity provider (IdP). As a result, any security policies you have set for your IdP apply. If you previously had a password policy that you set from the Site administration, that policy no longer applies.
G Suite integration
When you manage your users through G Suite, you can import existing users and groups, apply security policies set through G Suite, and manage your users from the G Suite admin pages. After you set up G Suite integration, your users will log in with their Google account by clicking Log in with Google. Refer to Integrate with G Suite for details about setting up your integration.
If you previously had a password policy that you set from the Site administration, that policy no longer applies. When you connect to G Suite, you're claiming your domain as part of the G Suite integration. As a result, you can't claim your domain from your Atlassian site.
