Atlassian Cloud
Your cloud-hosted products are supported by the Atlassian Cloud platform. This section usually includes changes related to multiple Atlassian Cloud products, site administration, and user management.
Easier switching between apps
The application navigator has had a visual refresh and some improvements to help you get to your work quicker. You can now use the navigator to:
- Quickly switch between Jira Projects and Confluence spaces you've recently worked on
- Navigate to your new home (in labs): One place to help you find all your Jira issues or Confluence pages that you've been working on.
Custom emojis
Remove any custom emoji from your site and toggle the ability of your site's users to upload new custom emojis.
Organizations for verified domains and accounts
We've introduced 'organization' as a way to manage your verified domains and user accounts. You can subscribe to Identity Manager and apply security policies on all your managed accounts.
Identity Manager is free to try for a limited time. Learn more about Identity Manager's Early Access Program.

The new Confluence experience
Confluence has a slick new look and sidebar navigation to help you create, find, collaborate on, and resume your work more quickly.
Nested tables will no longer be supported
As we work on creating a more stable editing experience, we will no longer be supporting nested tables - that is, a table within a list, block quotes, or another table.
Existing nested tables will not be affected, but you won't be able to create new nested tables.
Jira Service Desk
Login-free portal
Users can view the customer portal, read knowledge base articles, and send requests without logging in. Learn more on the Jira Service Desk blog.
Requests can now be automated by time in a certain status
You can now automate the handling of requests based on the time they have been in a certain status. In the automation settings, you will find a new WHEN action that allows you to specify the status and the amount of time of the requests you'd like to manage. Adding in a THEN action afterwards will allow you to take action on those requests like transitioning an issue to 'closed' or prompting for a comment.
New field for displaying the language in which a request was raised
For Service Desks that have enabled language support, you will now be able to see which language a request was written in with the new "request language" field. The language of the request is automatically detected. This field is searchable with JQL and will make it easier to assign requests to those best able to respond.

Agility boards: Select multiple issues
On agility boards, you can now select multiple issues and move them all to another column in one go.
Your new issue hasn't vanished – it's hidden by your board's filter
While viewing your board through a specific filter, you can create a new issue that doesn't match the filter; we'll let you know that the new issue has been successfully created, even though it'll be hidden by your current filter.
Create issues directly on your agility board, between existing issues
The agility board lets you create multiple issues directly on your board between existing issues.
Agility boards: Display information from development tools
Cards on your agility boards will now display information from your development tools. Check it out by connecting your repo.
Agility boards: View all completed issues
You can now see all the issues you've completed on your agility board in one big list. Hit Looking for an older issue? in the Done column to take a look.
New issue view: Show issue pop-up on boards when the URL specifies an issue
Click a link to a board that includes a selected issue and we'll automatically open the issue in the new issue view pop-up.
Jira platform
Changes in this section usually apply to all Jira products. We'll tell you in the change description if something is only for a specific Jira product.
New Jira experience: One-click issue create
By popular demand, one-click issue create is here. Clicking the + in the sidebar will now create an issue rather than giving you the option to create either an issue or a project. You can also use the keyboard shortcut, C, to quickly create an issue.
To create a project, click Projects > Create project.
New boards directory
We updated the look and feel of the boards directory to make it easier to find, sort and edit boards across your Jira site.
Search improvements
See a list of your recently viewed items when you click in the Search field in the header, and see results appear in real time as you type.
Updates to project details
We streamlined your project detail settings to focus on basic information about your project: its name, avatar and key. To view or edit these, go to your project settings and select Details.
New Jira experience: Sidebar navigation
We're rolling out a new experience for you and your teams. If you have the new experience on your Jira site, take a look at this guide to see what's new and what's changed.
New issue view: Jira Software boards
Quickly view and update issue details in our new issue view for your software boards. Select an issue on your board and it opens in a new pop-up dialog instead of the previous sidebar view. We're rolling this out gradually, so you may not see it on your site just yet.
We're adding new features and refining the design all the time, so click Give feedback on the issue view to let us know what you think.
The new Jira experience
We're rolling out a new Jira experience to our Jira Cloud customers. If you already have it on your site, read this guide to learn about it.
Jira global settings have moved
We've made a few layout changes that include:
- New dark-blue sidebar
- The settings top navigation bar has been placed in the new sidebar
- New font, font colors, button colors, change link colors, and margin - padding changes.
Learn more about the new Jira experience here.
Comment reactions
React to comments in Jira Core. Save those "+1" and "Thanks" comments for later and add a reaction instead
New issue view: Optimistic transitions
Faster issue transitions in the new board issue view. No more sitting around waiting for that transition to happen.
New issue view: Attachments panel
Add attachments directly to the new board issue view, without needing to add them in the description or comments. Click the quick-add paperclip icon under the issue summary to get started.
New issue view: Consistent image appearance in view and edit
We've improved the way we show images and other media in descriptions and comments in the new issue view. Now they look the same whether you're editing or viewing the issue.
Changes to projects
If you've opted into the new Jira experience, you can quickly move between your most recent projects from the project sidebar. Select the arrow next to the current project's name and avatar to try it out.
New issue view: Create subtasks
Capture everything that needs to be done by creating subtasks in the new issue view. Click the quick-add under the issue summary to start adding subtasks.
New issue view: Backlog
Take advantage of our simpler, more consistent issue view when planning your next sprint or grooming your backlog. Please note, this feature isn't available for all sites yet. We're rolling it out slowly, so don't worry if you don't see it just yet.
New issue view: Custom fields
See and edit these custom field types in the new issue view:
- Number
- Select from list (single and multi)
- Single-line text
- Multi-line text
- Labels
- User picker
- URL
- Date picker
- Group picker (single and multi)
New issue view: Hide subtasks when they're done
In the new issue view, choose ••• > Hide done to hide the subtask on the parent issue when it's transitioned to done.
New issue view: Show issue pop-up on boards when the URL specifies an issue
Click a link to a board that includes a selected issue and we'll automatically open the issue in the new issue view pop-up.
New issue view: Reorder subtasks
Drag and drop subtasks to arrange them the way you want in the new board issue view.
Invite new people to Jira projects by email
When adding people to projects, Jira admins can invite people to join their Atlassian site.
New issue view: Jira mobile
The improved usability and consistency of our new issue view is now on mobile too. Get the same great experience, regardless of device.
New issue view: Resize in backlog
Like to give the issue details more room when working in your backlog? Have it your way by dragging the border between your backlog and the new issue view to resize the columns. The new issue view is one column by default in the backlog, but it'll change to 2 columns (like the board view) if you make it wide enough.
New media uploader
Use our new media uploader, with handy recent files list and image annotations.
Bug fix: Show issue updates in English in integrations
Updates in chat clients were being shown in the language of the user who made the change. Now updates to system fields will always be in English. JRACLOUD-68297
