Manage release tracks
This feature is available for products with Enterprise plans. This feature is currently rolling out a beta version for Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence on Premium plans. Learn more about plans
Release tracks determine when you and your users get Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence changes and new features.
On the continuous release track, products get changes as soon as they become available. On the bundled release track, products get changes as a group every two weeks. This gives you time to plan for multiple product changes and features that will impact your users.
If you have a sandbox, you’ll be able to choose the preview release track so you can receive bundled release track changes in your sandbox 2 weeks before they roll out to production.
Types of changes
Products on the bundled release track will receive the same changes as products on the continuous track. The changes are held back for up to 4 weeks, added to the bundle, and rolled out two weeks later.
Changes that your users will notice. For example:
Products are on the continuous release track by default. They receive changes and features as soon as they become available.
Sandboxes on the preview release track receive bundled release track changes two weeks before they are rolled out with bundled track.
All changes released on the bundled track
Currently, Jira Service Management features powered by Opsgenie aren’t included in the bundled or preview release tracks.

Use sandboxes and release tracks together
With the sandbox feature, you can create an environment to test and experiment with changes. Learn more about sandboxes
With release tracks for sandboxes, put your sandbox on the same release schedule as your production environment, or configure the track combinations to get changes earlier than your production environment.
Your sandbox will be on the continuous track by default. If you want your sandbox to get changes before your production environment you can choose the bundled track for production, and the continuous track or preview track for your sandbox.
Your sandbox will receive changes and features as soon as they become available. Your production environment receives changes as a group every 2 weeks. These changes can be added to a bundle any time after they roll out to the continuous track.
When a bundle is created it will be released to the preview track 2 weeks before it’s released to your production environment on the bundled track
