Ask the community

You can set the default language for your Jira product(s) and Confluence site, but you'll need to do it in each product.

For Jira products:

  1. Choose Settings > System in the Jira sidebar
  2. Choose Edit Settings
  3. Select your Default language and choose Update

For  Confluence:

  1. Choose Settings in the Confluence sidebar
  2. Select Languages from the left column
  3. Choose Edit
  4. Select your default language and choose Submit


Available languages:

Jira Core Cloud, Jira Service Desk Cloud and Jira Software Cloud are available in:

  • English (UK)
  • English (US)
  • Chinese
  • Czech
  • Danish
  • Estonian
  • French
  • German
  • Hungarian
  • Icelandic
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Norwegian
  • Polish
  • Portuguese (Brazil)
  • Portuguese (Portugal)
  • Romanian
  • Russian
  • Slovak
  • Spanish
  • Swedish
  • Vietnamese (in progress for Jira Service Desk only)

Portfolio for Jira Cloud is offered in English only.

Confluence Cloud and Team Calendars for Confluence are available in:

  • English (UK)
  • English (US)
  • German
  • French
  • Japanese
  • Spanish
  • Russian
  • Korean
  • Portuguese (Brazil)
  • Czech
  • Danish
  • Estonian
  • Finnish
  • Hungarian

Each person can also select their own language preference.

In Jira:

  1. Go to your avatar > Personal settings
  2. Select your language and choose Save changes

In Confluence:

  1. Go to your avatar > Settings
  2. Choose Edit, then select your language and choose Submit
