Summary

Learn what to do when your spaces and pages are not appearing in Confluence Cloud after a migration.

Overview

After migrating to Confluence Cloud, using either the Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant (CCMA) or a space XML import, the space can't be found.

This may also present as:

  • the space is not listed in the Spaces dropdown
  • the space can't be found in View All Spaces or the space directory
  • space content can't be searched or used as a filter in search

This includes spaces not being visible to administrators with full site permissions.

The relationship between the users and their assigned groups is not preserved during the migration.

Users and administrators must be reassigned to permission groups as a post-migration activity.

Solution

Recover permissions to the site, then assign the users and groups to the View space permissions for the space, or add users to the appropriate groups with necessary permissions as in Assign Space Permissions:

To recover space permissions:

  1. Select the gear icon in the top nav (top right) to go to product settings.
  2. Select Space Permissions.
  3. Locate the space in the Individual Spaces list and select Recover Permissions. (If you're already an admin in the space, you'll see Manage Permissions.)

Selecting Recover Permissions will be recorded in the Confluence audit log.
