Can Confluence serve as intranet?

Cloud / Server

Confluence would be an excellent tool to use as an Intranet platform. The integrations and set up would depend on your specific requirements but Confluence is flexible and can, in most cases, be configured to fulfill your needs. Refer to Use Confluence as your intranet for use case documentation.

Have a look at our self-hosted version ‘Server’, if you are planning to have flexible and customized look and feel of the application (branding). There are many add-ons available in our Marketplace free for up to 90 days to add theming abilities to Confluence’s ‘default-theme’ pre-installed. In addition to this, we have published a number of blogs and put together a couple of videos related to this topic.

Try Confluence Cloud, if you prefer Confluence cloud deployment over managing your own infrastructure.  Note, restricted functions in Confluence Cloud include restricting the use of HTML macros and applications of CSS.  While this may limit the flexibility for look and feel of Confluence in the cloud hosted environment we recommend having a look at a theming add-on, Refined Theme for Confluence Cloud, in our Marketplace.

To know a detailed overview of all the features Confluence offers, watch the demo video provided here.
