Jira Service Desk: Getting Started
What are the minimum requirements I need to start using Jira Service Desk?
Jira Service Desk is a fully standalone product within the Jira family built on the power of the Jira platform. It brings the best of Jira together with an intuitive user interface, powerful SLA support, customizable queues, automated request management, and real-time reporting. You can use Jira Service Desk by itself, but it also integrates seamlessly with the larger Jira platform (Jira Core and Jira Software), letting your service teams work directly with your business and developer teams in a single interface. Less tool switching, easier communication, happier teams!
New to Jira Service Desk
Before installing Jira Service Desk on your server, check the installation requirements and supported platforms needed for Jira applications. To get started with Jira Service Desk Server, refer to our Jira Service Desk installation guide and our Getting Started with Jira Service Desk Server guide.

Existing Jira Software or Jira Core users
If you already have Jira Software or Jira Core installed on a server in your environment, it would be beneficial for optimal integration to install Jira Service Desk on the same server as outlined in installing additional Jira applications and version updates.
If you're already using Jira Software or Jira Core Cloud, it would be beneficial to add Jira Service Desk to the same Cloud site for optimal integration between your Jira products (and potentially other Atlassian products on your Cloud instance, such as Confluence). Atlassian Cloud products added to the same Cloud site are automatically integrated.
