How do you integrate Jira Service Management with an existing website?

With Jira Service Management Cloud, you can embed a widget onto a website for accepting requests and displaying linked Confluence knowledge base articles to customers. This widget, which requires configuration of a login-free portal, allows you to accept requests from anyone visiting your website.

To integrate Jira Service Management with an existing website, here are few options:

  • Link to your portal URL from your website, or configured your link to be a :mailto tag that emails the default email or configured email associated with your Jira Service Management project.

  • Integrate Jira Service Management with a third party system with custom development. External systems can inquire and update Jira via our Jira Service Management Server APIs. You could also build an interface app which runs inside Jira and updates your system. Feel free to use our Jira Development guides as a resource to help you started on building a plugin and using our remote APIs. You can also pose questions throughout your process to the Atlassian Community for input from other Atlassian users on developing custom integration.

Alternatively, you could also enlist or work with a local Atlassian Solutions Partner to develop the custom integration you're interested in. In fact, many of the popular connectors available in our Atlassian Marketplace are actually developed, maintained by, and supported by these same Atlassian-certified app vendors and Solutions Partners.
