Problem

After upgrading Confluence, #menuMacos_renderHeaderWorkDayLink() appears on the header.  It appears as the following:

Diagnosis

Review the <confluence-install-directory>/confluence/template/includes/menu-macros.vm to see if the renderHeaderWorkDayLink exists in it.  If it does not, please proceed with the Workaround.

Cause

Due to decorators and customization, the menu-macros.vm file is corrupted during the upgrade.

Workaround

  1. Backup your database and home directory
  2. Download a Confluence version that matches your current version from the archive
  3. Find the Confluence>template>includes>menu-macros.vm file from that download and copy it somewhere that we can easily get to it
  4. Navigate to the same location on your current instance
  5. Take the menu-macros.vm file and remove it from this folder
  6. Move the menu-macros.vm file that we recently downloaded, and place it in the folder
  7. Restart the Confluence service
