Confluence and JIRA can be both connected to the same database, However, each application needs to be connected to its own database schema.
For example, the following scenario is workable:
Do's (/)
- Confluence is connected to MySQL database located in localhost with the port 3306 and the database schema name of confluencedb
- JIRA is connected to MySQL database located in localhost with the port 3306 and the database schema name of JIRAdb
Where the following setting will not work:
Don'ts (x)
- Both Confluence and JIRA is connected to MySQL database located in localhost with the port 3306 and the database schema name of atlassiandb
This is because each application will have different database structure and database usage. Combining both will result with corruption of the database schema.
