Problem

The Confluence Data Center and Server mobile app throws the following error when user tries to access the login screen.

Something went wrong

Can’t show the site list. This may be due to a problem with your MDM app configuration.

Cause

When you deploy Confluence using a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution, it is possible to pre-populate a list of Confluence site URLs to help users log in more quickly. This is done via a key value pair in app configuration.

This error appears when the value of the "sites" key has not been entered correctly.

Mobile Device Management support for the Confluence Data Center and Server app requires Android app 0.4.3 or later, and iOS app 1.8.0 or later.

Resolution

In your Mobile Device Management solution, such as MobileIron or AirWatch, go to the App Configuration settings and check:

  • Check you've copied our example exactly, including square brackets and braces
  • Check your URLs are correctly formatted, including https://
