Problem
While watching an embedded video (attachment) via the multimedia macro, Confluence performs slowly and becomes unresponsive. Although the video is locally stored attachments, it may take more than a minute to load a small video file. However, once the video is stopped streaming, Confluence will return to normal operation.
Diagnosis
Environment
- Happens in all browsers.
- Confluence 6.0 or above.
Diagnostic Steps
- A HAR file shows exceptionally long load time for the video.
- There may be no related error in the logs.
- Can't replicate the problem while Confluence is on safe mode.
- Happens to a blank page with one small sized video as well.
Workaround
Please disable (temporarily) Advanced Redirection Plugin by hasCode.com if it's running in your Confluence instance.
