Symptoms

The server time on Confluence is inaccurate.

Cause

Confluence pulls server time off of the Java Virtual Machine, which usually reads from server time. It is possible that the JVM is set to the wrong zone or if just 1 hour off, it's possible that your Java implementation has the wrong DST start/end dates.

Resolution

  1. Check the server time. The Java Virtual Machine bases its time off the system time.
  2. There is a bug in Java relating to linux that can cause the time to be off: Bug ID 6456628.
  3. Check the DST information (if you are in a country that has DST). You should be able to do download a timezone update here .
