Symptoms

startup.sh command shows:

http://localhost:8080 does not render anything.

Cause

The error message indicates the application has not been correctly installed with a correct JDK version.

Resolution

  1. Ensure the download of Confluence completed successfully and archived extracted fully.
  2. Ensure that the environment is configured correctly.
  3. Ensure you have a supported and valid JDK version.
