Problem

Some LDAP users are unable to log in. The following appears in the atlassian-confluence.log:

2011-06-14 10:07:52,968 WARN [pool-131-thread-1] [directory.ldap.mapper.UserContextMapper] mapFromContext Failed to map attribute <uSNChanged> from context with DN <cn=Test User,ou=Confluence_users,dc=test,dc=local>

Cause

This WARN means that the User DN being used in your Directory setup on Confluence does not have enough permissions to see all the necessary attributes of your LDAP users.

Resolution

Grant the appropriate permissions to this User DN on your LDAP server. The user connecting to LDAP is established when Connecting to an LDAP Directory.
(info) If the LDAP directory is Microsoft Active Directory, adding this User DN to the Account Operators group in AD solves the problem (gives to this user enough permissions to see all the attributes).
