New JIRA OnDemand Features

Direct issue import from third-party issue trackers

You can now import issues directly into JIRA OnDemand from CSV files, FogBugz OnDemand, Pivotal Tracker and Trac. This allows you to:

  • Bypass the need to import your issues into a local JIRA installation before eventually importing them into JIRA OnDemand.
  • Import issues to one or more projects without overwriting existing data.

To access these features in JIRA OnDemand, go to Administration (from your username dropdown menu) > Issues > External System Import


More Administration user interface improvements

Following on with improvements to the Administration User Interface (UI) in earlier JIRA releases, JIRA 5.0.1 improves the Administration UI by converting more Administration page forms into convenient dialog boxes.

The forms for adding new issue types, sub-tasks, field configurations (+ field configuration schemes) and screens (+ screen schemes) are now dialog boxes, which are easily accessed by clicking a button at the top-right of the appropriate JIRA Administration pages.

New Welcome page

For new JIRA OnDemand instances, you'll be presented with a new Welcome page to help guide you through the process of creating your first JIRA On Demand project.

JIRA OnDemand changes for administrators

For new JIRA OnDemand instances:

  • Sub-tasks are now enabled by default.
    This does not effect upgraded customers, your sub-task preference will remain the same.
  • The Wiki Style Renderer, which displays rich text (HTML), is now the default renderer for the Description and Comment fields.
    This does not effect upgraded customers, your renderer preferences will remain the same.
