In most cases, you should not need to install the DVCS Connector plugin in JIRA; it is shipped with the application. If for some reason, you do need to install or upgrade the connection, you must have System Administrator permissions on the JIRA instance.

Prerequisites for Installation or Upgrade

Before you install or upgrade the DVCS Connector plugin, ensure that you are using a plugin version that is compatible with your JIRA version. If you are installing through the Universal Plugin Manager (UPM), it ensures you only install a compatible plugin. If you want to download the plugin from the Atlassian Plugin Exchange, click the Compatibility with JIRA link on the connector's page.

To install the DVCS Connector plugin, open JIRA in your browser and do the following:

  1. This doc is NOT for JIRA 6.1.5. Here are instructions on what worked for me.

    - Download the latest jar here: https://maven.atlassian.com/content/groups/public/com/atlassian/jira/plugins/
    - In JIRA (6.1.5) log on with admin user.
    - Go to system
    - Contrary to what confluence docs say, choose "Add Ons" (Plug ins no longer exists)
    - In Search, enter DVCS
    - I already had an older version so I had to click "Manage"
    - First disable the DVCS plug.
    - Now click Upload Add On ( At the top, next to the Search field. Use Find function in browser if you miss it )
    - Select the path to the jar you obtained from the Nexus Repo
    - Enable the add on again.
    - Done, I hope.
