How do I get rid of this F@&!% thing?
It's built into Spring Tool Suite 3.6.0 RELEASE and there doesn't seem to be any reasonable way to uninstall it. Installing 3.0.8 over top seems to work at first, but it generates constant warnings, alerts, slow downs and attempts to update.
We're stuck with JIRA 4.3.x for the foreseeable future, so having this built-in makes STS unusable. I understand why it is a good option for lots of people, but building it in rather than making it a default download is insane.

Apparently a manual install, where all features and plugins named com.atlassian.connector.*_3.2.3* are deleted from the file system and then version 3.0.8 is installed from the older update site works just fine. It only complains about missing plugins on the first restart after deleting and before re-installing.

I don't think Atlassian Connector is built into STS. However we do not track what STS is depending on.
We are also not aware of any other Eclipse plugin/tool depending on Atlassian Connector.
