At the release of JIRA 5.2, due towards the end of 2012, we are ending support for version 5.5.x of the Tomcat application server for JIRA WAR. End of support means that Atlassian will not fix bugs related to Tomcat 5.5.x past the support end date.

Please note: The Apache Tomcat team has announced that the end of life (EOL) date for version 5.5.x is September 2012. See the announcement.

You can stay on older versions of JIRA to support your existing database. However, Atlassian will no longer fix bugs affecting Tomcat 5.5.x past the support end date.
