Browser Hangs when initiating an Issue Operation

Symptoms

When you try to Create/Edit/Close an Issue your browser hangs indefinitely.

Cause

A Screen in your Screen Scheme contains no fields.

This is a known bug: JRA-29355 - Getting issue details... STATUS

Resolution

  1. When in Administration, click on your project.
  2. Click on Screens
  3. Find the Operation that causes your browser to hang and click on it.
  4. Add at least one field to that screen

 

Reproduction environment

JIRA 5.1.1 accessed with Firefox 14.0.1 and Chrome Version 21.0.1180.79
