How to Search for Highly Voted Issues in JIRA

This page explains how to search a JIRA instance for issues with the greatest number of votes.
Using Basic Search
- Navigate to issue search
- Construct a search for the issues you're interested in (e.g. all issues in a particular project)
- Execute the search
- Switch to list view
- Click the "Columns" button on the right of the screen
- Type "Votes" into the columns dialog search
- Check the checkbox that appears
- Click the "Done" button in the columns dialog
- Click the "Votes" column that appeared in the results table to sort issues by number of votes
- The issues with the greatest number of votes will be at the top of the table
Using JQL
- Navigate to issue search
- As above, click the "Columns" button on the right of the screen and add the "Votes"
- Construct a search for the issues you're interested in (e.g. all issues in a particular project)
- Execute the search
- Switch to advanced mode
- Add the following to the end of the search JQL:
ORDER BY votes DESC
- Re-execute the search
- The issues with the greatest number of votes will be at the top of the table
- The "Votes" column may not be visible — to see the number of votes on each issue, follow the steps above
