Summary
This article describes the steps you can follow to track changes made to the Versions/Releases in Jira, since there is unfortunately no option to track changes made to the Versions/Releases in the project settings page.
We have a feature request in the system to address this requirement: JRASERVER-67675 - See history of changes made to a Version in the Versions page itself
Environment
Jira 8.20.X and 9.X versions
Solution
It is possible to track these changes in the Advanced Audit Logs functionality.
Users can navigate to ⚙ > System > Audit logs page and apply the filter conditions 'Project Version Created' and 'Project Version Updated'.
This functionality will list the recent changes made to the version based on the audit log retention period set in the system (which can vary from customer to customer based on requirements).
