Searching and filtering in the backlog

This page refers to Portfolio classic plans. If you are currently running Portfolio 2.0, please check this link to access the latest page version.

The search and filtering controls in the backlog view let you quickly narrow the content of the backlog table and the graphical timeline to selected items, releases, and teams.

The filters are additive, if you set multiple criteria such as release version 1.0 and team A, both criteria must be met by an item in order to be shown.

Using the search and filter controls

The easiest way to find items is by full-text search. The search matches terms contained in the title of backlog items. Press Enter to apply the search,or the small search icon right next to the filter controls. The search results will show all results with the search term and will adjust the graphical view to display the filtered results.

Filtering options

Release, team, and themes filters work by the same principle: Select one or multiple entries in the filter dropdown to show those exact values. If nothing is selected, it means no filter is set, and all items are displayed.

You can access more filters by using the drop down. Filtering is accomplished using the same time units used in the rest of your plan, for example, if you use hours, hours are also used in the filter values.
