Coloring by projects, statuses, and teams are the simpler coloring options available in the improved planning interface. These are considered simpler configurations because you don't have to configure anything else — other than selecting projectstatus, or team as your coloring option.

Coloring by projects

When you're coloring issues by projects, colors will be randomly assigned to the projects that exist in your plan.Sample plan, with issues colored by projects

To color issues by projects:

  1. In the roadmap view of the plan, click View settings.
  2. From the 'Color by' menu, choose Project. The issues will be colored by the corresponding projects they belong to.

Coloring by statuses

When you're coloring issues by statuses, these colors will be assigned to the following status categories:

  • To do: Blue
  • In progress: Yellow
  • Done: Green

Sample plan, with issues colored by statuses

To color issues by statuses:

  1. In the roadmap view of the plan, click View settings.
  2. From the 'Color by' menu, choose Status. The issues will be colored by their corresponding statuses.

Coloring by teams

When you're coloring issues by teams, colors will be randomly assigned to the teams that exist in your plan.Sample plan, with issues colored by teams

You can also see issues colored in gray because these issues are not explicitly assigned to a team. The team values are just rolled-up from the teams that are assigned to the corresponding child issues. This is the default behavior for rolled-up teams, when this coloring option is used.

To color issues by teams:

  1. In the roadmap view of the plan, click View settings.
  2. From the 'Color by' menu, choose Team. The issues will be colored by the teams that they are assigned to.
