Booth Giveaways
Looking for something cool to give away at your booth? Here are some ideas:
Pens: inexpensive, lightweight, and plenty of options, including eco-friendly models at less than $/€ 1 a piece, like here.
Notepads/sticky notes: make it a set and give away some paper for guests to use their new pens on. Our experience is that post-its (my desk is covered in them) and small handy (recycled paper) notepads work best. And what's more, they should only be $/€ 2 each to produce
Bottle openers: you may already have a fancy Atlassian beer wrench, but as there are quite a number of beer/wine connoisseurs among Summit attendees, this is a nice gift you can apply logos to and ensure your fellow guests will enjoy using. For bonus points, get a model that opens beer bottles AND wine bottles, like here. Double bonus? Add some coasters or other drink accessory. Just be careful with producing fragile items!
Geek toys: for larger budgets or more limited numbers, we all love stuff to play with at the office. We love magnetic balls, but many creative puzzles do well. Just keep in mind it shouldn't be too big, heavy or cheesy - you want guests to place it on their desks, not in their rubbish bins. That's why I'm generally against stress balls and paper holders. Want to give back to the community? There are a growing number of fair trade gadgets out there!
Other desk items: if toys go too far, think of items you always love having a spare of: USB sticks (they come in all shapes and sizes, easily customizable for promotional use), eco-friendly mouse pads, etc.
Brochures: you may want to print a couple to hand out. Why not ask your local printer if they can print on recycled paper? Nature will thank you for it.
Of course, this is only the tip of the swag-iceberg. Be creative, browse around for your ideal giveaways. It doesn't have to cost a fortune! Still in doubt, want to test an idea, can't find what you're looking for? Shoot us an e-mail. We're happy to help!

Launch Pad Competition
There are 10 Launch Pad sponsors. Each participant will have 5-minutes to 'wow' the audience.
The rules
- 5-Minute demo/presentation (with moderator). You will be booed off stage if you go past your 5-minutes! Keep it tight.
- Must be a product or feature, no services (e.g. demo that killer plugin or app). The talks must have a demo component (either a live demo or a movie - no pure slideware). Include a cover slide, an intro slide about the company, and a closing slide, but as much as possible, everything else should be a demo. You get extra credit if you can do it without any slides :) You might be asking yourself why a demo? The short answer: this is a product competition. There are 10 presentations back-to-back. It needs to be a fun and fast paced 90 minutes with lots of eye candy to keep the audience's attention throughout. Make it as fun as possible and try to stand out.
- Participants must submit a summary of their launchpad entry by April 30. Send to summit@atlassian.com. Summary should include:
- Names of presenter(s)
- Title of "launch"
- 3-sentence description of what you plan to "launch"
- Outline of any special demonstration requirements (no guarantee we can meet all of them)
- We need your final slides sent to us no later than May 20 so we can pre-load them onto the presentation laptops. NO EXCEPTIONS. If we don't have slides by May 20, you will not be allowed to participate. We have too many other logistics to manage and cannot do last minute requests.
- If your presentation includes video or audio, please embed it into the slides.
- We will have Internet access so you can load your demo while the other presenter is giving his/her demo.
- If your presentation is too big to email, we'll give you access to a DropBox account.
- Make your presentation fun and relevant to the attendees... and be sure to have a good time yourself!
- There will be audience voting on the best product demonstration via http://www.polleverywhere.com/
- We're going to set up two podiums; while one person is setting up, the other will be presenting. Like I said, we're trying to keep it fast paced!
- The presenters will go in alphabetical order by company name.
- The screen resolution for the competition: 1920 x 1080
Now the fun part. Prizes. The overall winner of the Launch Pad event will receive:
- 3 free passes to AtlasCamp USA 2012
- a feature of your product on plugins.atlassian.com
- a blog post and newsletter also featuring your presentation and product
How is the room set up?
There will be two podiums (lecterns) on which we have MacBook Pro laptops - all the launchpad presos are put on those laptops.
If you desire to use your own machine, please send model information to summit@atlassian.com so we are ready with the right hardware
