Managing External Referrers

An external referrer is any site that links to your Confluence instance. Each time someone clicks on the external link, your Confluence site can record the click as a referral.

By default, external referrers for a page are listed under 'Hot Referrers' on the 'Info' screen of the page. Confluence shows a maximum of 10 referrers. If there are more than 10, confluence shows the 10 with the highest number of hits.

Note that you do not need to enable trackback in order to have external referrers enabled.

To manage your external referrers:

  1. Choose the cog icon , then choose General Configuration under Confluence Administration
  2. Choose 'Manage Referrers'.

The following actions will be available:

Is is possible to find the referrers for the main global homepage? This doesn't have an info page and I normally get the statistics from the Admin section. Thanks!

Is it possible to embed a list of external/hot referrers in the normal page view?  We would like to emphasize two-way linkages between Confluence and JIRA, along with a number of other internal tools, so that references to a Confluence page become effectively a part of its content.  Having them hidden on the Page Info screen doesn't help us a whole lot...

+1 it would be great to show X most recent referrers on the page, or at least have a macro that shows it. Most recent seems more useful than top referrers.
