"Something Went Wrong" Error when logging in with OneLogin

Problem

When selecting the Log in with OneLogin option on Hipchat Server, the following error is observed. 

 

Environment

  • Hipchat Server or Data Center using SAML for user management.
  • SAML was configured using the instructions at Set up SSO with OneLogin.

Diagnosis

  • No entries in the Hipchat Server's  /var/log/hipchat/web.log related to SAML login failures. 

Cause

  • The user account was not added to SAML app in OneLogin.

Resolution

To add apps to users one at a time:

  • Go to Users > All Users.
  • Select a user.
  • Go to the Applications tab and click the + plus sign to assign an app to the user.
  • Once completed, verify that the user can Log in with OneLogin successfully.
