Understand how to export one or more object schemas in Insight Cloud.

While you can export one or more objects using the Export objects feature, doing that for an entire schema with a large set of data can be exhausting and tedious.

The Export object schema feature allows you export one or more entire object schemas at once - including the object types, attributes, references, and objects associated with that schema.

In order to export object schemas, you must be in the Insight Administrator or Insight Manager role. Follow the steps below.

  1. Under Insight, click the Object Schemas header in the sidebar, and then Export Object Schemas, at top-right.
  2. In the Export Object Schemas screen, click Select All, or choose one or more object schemas that you would like to export.

    1. Click Export with objects if you would like to also export all objects in this object schema.

    2. Click Protect with password if you would like to add a password. Enter the password for this object schema export in the box below. You can select Show password to make the password visible when typing it in.

    3. Click Export to continue.

  1. In the next screen, click Confirm to begin the export.

Depending on the amount of data being exported this process may take a long time. You can leave this page and return without disrupting the export.

  2. When the export is complete, click Download to download the exported data, or click Create another export to begin another export. Click Close, at bottom-right, to close this screen and return to the Insight Object Schemas view.

Exporting all schemas is recommended if you are using cross-schema references that link several object schemas, and you want to preserve these references.
