In this release we have focused on reports and gadgets. We have created 3 new reports and also created a gadget for most of the reports Insight provides.

User Report

The User Report gives you information about how many objects your users are responsible for. This report can answer questions like: How many servers does Tommy manage? What about Amir? Should we perhaps split the servers more evenly between them?

Project Time Report

The Project Time Report gives you information on number of hours spent on objects through JIRA Issue/s connected to them over time for a specific JIRA project. This report is good to use when you want to measure the amount of hours spent on certain object/s for a specific project. It gives you a hint which objects are most costly for your project. This report can answer questions like: How many hours are spent on these assets in the first quarter? How many more hours are spent on asset A compared to asset B?

Service Catalog Report

The Catalog Report gives you an overview of either a schema or object type. The number of levels decides how specific the report will be, the more levels the more info you get on object attributes and referenced objects. If you want to work with this data any further you can get it in either JSON or XML format.

Gadgets

Most of the reports Insight provides are available as a gadget. These are the ones you may use as of this release:

We have also built support for the JIRA activity stream:

Configuration

Status type

A new attribute type "Status" is implemented to be able to easy add a status of an object. It's a very common scenario that you want an object status and therefor we decided to implement this in Insight core. Before this release, you needed to create separate object types for this, but thats no longer needed.

Configuration of a status attribute

For every new created Status attribute, you may choose which statuses that should be available for this attribute. The available statuses are created both in global configuration and in a specific object schema like this:

Statuses tab

In future release, you may be able to configure the categories in order to show objects of a specific category in graphs, reports etc.

Re-index

Insight automatically created index of objects. However, sometime you may want to refresh the index and you may do that in the global configuration:

Index tab

This is the progress dialog of the re-indexing:

Bug fixes and improvements
