Changing your Password

To change your JIRA password:

  1. Choose your user name at top right of the screen, then choose Profile.
  2. In the Details section, click the 'Change Password' link. The Change Password dialog box opens.
  3. Type your old password into the Current Password field, and type your new password into the New Password and Confirm Password fields.
  4. Click the 'Update' button.

If your JIRA administrator has configured the user directory containing your account with external password management, the 'Change Password' link will not be available.

What happens "If your JIRA administrator has configured the user directory containing your account with external password management, the 'Change Password' link will not be available." ?

I mean, how can I change a password (admin) that is not in the "external password management" ?

Administration -> User Browser -> Click on username -> Click "Set Password"

I have not tried it yet.

I have admin rights but there is no "Set Password" link at:

Administration -> User Browser -> Click on username

Has this link been moved to somewhere else?

This does not work on JIRA OnDemand. Even if external user management is ON, the 'Change Password' link is still available. Is there any other way to disable that link on JIRA OnDemand ?

So it is not possible for a user to change their password if we are using Crowd?

There doesn't appear to be anything about this in the docs anywhere.
